More about Allison
Hi, I'm Allison Schulte.
I grew up in Los Angeles, California, and moved to Detroit in 2025, where my family has deep roots. I'm now a proud East Sider!
Before becoming a Pilates teacher, I earned my license as a Physical Therapist Assistant through an intensive two-year clinical program focused on anatomy, biomechanics, rehabilitation, and evidence-based care. That foundation allows me to continually build my practice through advanced continuing education in pelvic health and functional movement—training that isn't typically available to Pilates instructors alone.
Movement has been a lifelong passion. I've studied bellydance since 1997, an art form that gave me an early appreciation for the incredible complexity, strength, and expression of the pelvis. I also offer private belly dance instruction for those interested in exploring movement through dance.
I founded Detroit Pelvic Health to help people move with greater confidence, reduce pain, improve function, and better understand their bodies. Whether you're hoping to stay active, manage a pelvic health concern, recover after an injury, or simply move more comfortably in everyday life, my goal is to provide practical, individualized support grounded in science and compassion.
I'm also the Founder and Executive Director of Pelvic Sanctuary, a nonprofit organization advancing inclusive pelvic health education for marginalized communities across Detroit and Los Angeles.
I believe movement should feel empowering—not intimidating—and that understanding your body is one of the most valuable investments you can make in your long-term health.
