More about Allison

Allison Schulte, MFA, PTA, is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant and Pelvic Health Specialist with advanced certifications in 3D Maps and Functional Movement through the Gray Institute, and specialized pelvic health credentials from Herman & Wallace, Medbridge, and the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). She is also certified in Sheppard Method Pilates and as a Mindfulness Meditation Teacher through Dharma Moon.

Allison is the Founder and Executive Director of Pelvic Sanctuary, a nonprofit advancing inclusive pelvic health education nationwide. She has taught pelvic wellness workshops across the U.S. and works with individuals, community organizations, and companies to make pelvic health accessible and practical for real life.

Allison holds a Master of Fine Arts from California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), was a guest scholar at Universität der Künste Berlin, and studied Library Science at San José State University. She has received grants and awards for her archival work in the history of human sexuality and LGBTQIA+ advocacy from the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, the Museum Institute of Library Services, the Special Libraries Association, and the Art Libraries Society of North America. She is currently working on grant-funded community projects in Los Angeles for Supervisor Lindsey Horvath’s 3rd District and Tim Disney’s Adamma Foundation.

Allison travels regularly between her two favorite cities, Los Angeles, where she grew up, and Detroit, where her family roots are.
